We enjoyed our visit to the center's: "A Tribute to our Military." How very blessed we are to have such a resource in our home of Walker County! Thank you WACF for this opportunity.

EJ's great aunt who received the highest honors of an enlisted soldier. Wow!!

Happy Halloween!

We love Halloween at WJS! As a fund raiser, the students pay $1 and get to dress up. 🎃👻

 Our day included science:"Your Skelton is Alive!", math: Spooky Word Problems & Expressions, reading: "The History of Jack-o-lanterns", and a bone scavenger hunt!! What a great day!

Baggie Chemisty

Today we explored chemical changes and collected data as we added substances. Chemical changes are evidenced by: color/temperature change and/or gas/solid formation. The students enjoyed the experiments.

Flight Competition

Mechanical energy through flight! We competed in a flying tournament today and the winner in Mrs. Evans' room was Tyler W. & winners in Ms. Simon's room were Brodie V and Justin A.  Congrats!!

Seeds in the ground!



Thanks to a grant and Mrs. Chesser's initiative we have garden beds beside our playground! Today our class planted radishes, carrots, and broccoli. We will harvest our veggies soon and hope to create a classroom salad for lunch. We are excited about our plot of food and hope we have green thumbs.

Safety Patrol Induction


The fifth graders were inducted into the safety patrol today! The welcome was offered by student leaders: Curtis & Brodie. Daishay read the invocation and Kyniah led the pledge. I am proud of our student leaders!
